Sigma guitar serial number dating

This guitar was really nice sounding and had a very clear, rich tone for a guitar in this price range. Those guys at Martin know how to spec out a guitar. The new company that makes Sigma now uses this model number in their current line-up, but don't be confused by that.

I think it shows that they were proud enough of their overseas manufactured guitars to claim them as part of the family.

There seems to be a lot more documentation on some of the other model numbers.

Because in contrast to Gibson or Fender, Martin the serial numbers simply used in sequence starting 1898. By means of the serial number of your Martin can therefore quite precise date of production be determined.

Where to find the serial number Look in the sound hole in the direction of the neck and you see on the neck block model and serial numbers are stamped.

Overall I'd say that the vintage Sigma Guitars are pretty underrated, even though they have the Martin brand behind them.

I do see them for sale from time to time on my local Craigslist and they are usually in the 5-275 range.

I think if you are looking for an excellent guitar in an affordable price range, you can't go wrong with a vintage Sigma.

\n Is their a resource anywhere that lists Sigma serial numbers by year? It has a paper label which I understand indicates early 1970's and it's solid spruce and rosewood.

I've even heard that, on some of the '70s Yamaha FG models, they would make some solid and some laminate.
