Summer and January Term Internships In the 2002 2003 academic year, nearly 250 students completed either a summer or a January Term internship, coordinated through the Career Development Center, in fields ranging from medicine and finance to government and the arts. Students select from a wide range of places, including Australia, China, Cuba, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Russia, Senegal, Spain, Tanzania, and the United Kingdom.

Residential Life Ninety-eight percent of students live on campus in 19 residence halls that have been described as "palaces" by the Princeton Review. In addition to a range of dining options in the residence halls, board students may dine in Blanchard Caf in our campus center for lunch and/or dinner.

When South Hadley can’t do the trick, they’ll go to the “neighboring towns of Amherst and Northampton for food and shopping” since the local buses “[make] travel to these towns easy and cheap.” When the weather allows, people take part in club outing events such as “trips to the rock gym [and] trips to Boston or New York City.” Others generally “just enjoy the sunshine or go apple picking in the fall or find somewhere to go for a hike.” Mount Holyoke College is a highly selective, nondenominational, residential, liberal arts college enrolling approximately 2,200 women from across the U.
